Keidanren to propose relaxing requirements for issuing visas to foreign workers
Nippon Keidanren finalized its proposal to request the acceptance of more foreign workers. The organization will request the Japanese government to relax the requirements for issuing visas to foreign workers possessing highly technical knowledge and skills such as engineering in order to increase Japanese companies’ global competitiveness. To facilitate acceptance of foreign nationals, Nippon Keidanren also proposed its efforts to strengthen corporate compliance and municipal governments’ support to lay down necessary infrastructures for admitting more foreigners.
According to a survey conducted by Nippon Keidanren to its member corporations, strong demand existed for specialists such as those in information technology, research and development in high technology, and international operations, underscoring the competitiveness in retaining international personnel.
